Transportation Projects

Quincy Engineering prepared the PS&E to upgrade the State Route 99/State Route 120 East Interchange in the City of Manteca.
In addition to reconfiguring the interchange and replacing the existing bridges, the project widened State Route 120 east of the interchange, and upgraded all ramp intersections, including replacing signals and lighting. Sound walls were constucted to reduce noise impacts of the highway on adjacent residences and businesses.

Stage construction was utilized to allow the interchange to remain open to vehicular, pedestrian and bicycle traffic while the facility improvements were constructed. Utility relocation, traffic signal interconnection, drainage, and retaining walls were additional design challenges on this expedited design project. Prior to developing the final PS&E, Quincy Engineering prepared the Project Report and Final Environmental Document, which included a very successful public outreach program that resulted in the approval of the project for final design.
