Experience Overview:

Alan Glen has 31 years of transportation design and management experience and is adept in all phases of roadway design.  He has performed as a Project Manager, Project Engineer, and Designer on both Local Agency and Caltrans transportation projects throughout California and has been responsible for the production of many Project Study Reports, Project Reports, and PS&Es during his career.  His experience includes the development and review of over 60 PSRs in the state.  He was also a Caltrans Geometric Reviewer responsible for the geometric approval of all designs in Northern California, as well as San Bernardino and Riverside Counties.

 

For six years, Mr. Glen was responsible for establishing roadway design standards for California with the production of the Highway Design Manual.  He also represented California on the AASHTO Task Force on Geometric Design.  Mr. Glen authored “Chapter 10-Grade Separations and Interchanges” of the 1994 AASHTO “A Policy on Geometric Design of Highways and Streets.”

 

During his last three years at Caltrans, he managed the Local Assistance Program and has also served on Transportation Research Board (TRB) and FHWA expert panels for various research topics.
