Patterson

Patterson The City of Patterson is a rapidly growing town in the central San Joaquin Valley in Stanislaus County. Located east of the San Francisco Bay Area, the town is growing into a bedroom community for people working in the East Bay Area. Traffic congestion in the Bay Area is causing many businesses to relocate to the valley as well, and Patterson and many of the rural towns east of the Bay Area are changing to accommodate this influx of people and businesses.

Quincy Engineering Inc. provided contract administration and field inspection services for several projects to develop the city on its western boundary, including the Baldwin Road Improvement Project and the Sperry Road/Ward Road Sewer Main Project.

The $3 million Baldwin Road Improvement Project widened one-mile segment of Baldwin Road into a divided roadway with raised median for future landscaping, within a planned residential and business park area. Features included the roadway itself, water and storm drain system, street lighting, and a joint utility trench for electrical, gas and cable television services.

Patterson The $1 million Sperry Road/Ward Road Sewer Main Project consisted of nearly two miles of sewer line along these two roads in the same general area as the Baldwin Road project. While most of the line was installed using open trench construction, at several roadway intersections the sewer line was installed using the jack and bore method of construction so that the intersections could remain open to traffic during construction.
