This project consists of widening 1.7 miles of Price Canyon Road from Ormonde Road to State Route 227 in order to provide continuous eight-foot shoulders that will be used to accommodate a Class II bike path. Also included are the widening and seismic retrofit of the Corral de Piedra Creek Bridge and the widening and deck rehabilitation of the Edna Overhead bridge. With the completion of this project, the bikeway will extend from Pismo Beach to the City of San Luis Obispo. Design considerations include avoiding impacts to known archeological sites and riparian habitat surrounding the roadway, minimizing impacts to utilities, including an adjacent oil production field, and the evaluation of the condition of the existing deteriorating roadway.
