Construction Management

Quincy Engineering Inc. provided construction administration and inspection services for this new four-span, cast-in-place box girder bridge across the Feather River. This new bridge superstructure was constructed on the supports of the existing bridge, which was removed because it was structurally deficient and functionally obsolete. This bridge was particularly challenging to construct because the Union Pacific Railroad is located at one end of the bridge while State Route 70 is directly adjacent to the other end. Coordination with the UPRR and Caltrans were particularly important, as was permit compliance since the Feather River is designated as a Wild and Scenic River.
