We are excited to announce that Merced County’s Campus Parkway (Segment II) project was recently awarded APWA’s Project of the Year Award for transportation projects in the $5-25 Million category.
The Campus Parkway project includes the construction of a four-lane expressway and is being completed in three segments. Segment I, from Highway 99 to Childs Avenue was completed by the County several years ago. Segment II, which extends the expressway to Highway 140, was completed in mid-2020. Segment III is under construction and will stretch the expressway to Yosemite Avenue. Once finished, Campus Parkway will complete the south-eastern portion of the “Merced Loop System,” which will circle the City of Merced and connect surrounding communities, including the City of Atwater.
Quincy Engineering, a subconsultant to NV5, provided structure-specific construction engineering and oversight of the Campus Parkway Bridges over Highway 140 and BNSF railroad. Quincy staff, Leland Mason and Ramon Montes De Oca, served as Structure Representative and Assistant Structure Representative, respectively.
Congratulations to the entire County team for a well-done project!
