SURVEY MANAGER

FULL TIME
Quincy Engineering is seeking a Professional Land Surveyor licensed in the State of California with a minimum of 10 years of progressively increasing responsibility to support transportation improvement projects and help expand our Survey Department. Depending on experience, candidates may be offered the position of Survey Manager or they may be offered the position of Senior Surveyor with the opportunity to become the Survey Department Manager at some point in the future.
Duties will include:

Managing a survey crew and, depending on experience, the Survey Department
-
Preparing and performing topographical mapping utilizing ground surveys and/or aerially generated surveys with ground control
-
Performing property boundary surveys and map research to accurately identify all land rights within the limits of various projects
-
Preparing right-of-way plats and legal descriptions for land acquisition and easements
-
Preparing Records of Survey and Parcel Maps
-
Performing construction staking
-
Assisting with establishing and maintaining surveying standards and procedures
-
Providing Quality Control for work products prepared by others (internal staff and subconsultants)
-
Assisting Project Managers establish budgets, scope of work and timelines for project survey deliverables
-
Prepare or assist with the preparation of proposals to obtain additional work
-
Serving on a Project Delivery Team in the role of Survey Technical Lead on larger and technically complex projects
-
Acting in the role of Survey Project Manager on contracts to provide surveys for public and private clients (responsible for scope, schedule, and budget)

Training new survey staff
Candidate must have:
-
Knowledge and relevant experience in Caltrans surveying and mapping policies and procedures
-
Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) with internal staff, clients and the public
-
Capability to lead others in the delivery of survey products
-
Ability to work on a variety of projects with competing deadlines
-
Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and Bentley Microstation InRoads
-
Knowledge of the Professional Land Surveyors’ Act
-
FAA certified commercial drone pilot
Minimum Qualifications:
-
Possession of a Professional Land Surveyor’s License and minimum of ten years of land surveying experience in good standing
-
Valid and current State of California driver’s license
