John Quincy, one of the founding principals of Quincy Engineering, has over 35 years of bridge and transportation experience and has personally delivered more than 60 projects throughout California as Project Manager and Project Engineer. In addition, John is versed in all aspects of transportation design with particular expertise in designing complex bridges and transportation related structures.
His experience as Designer and Independent Checker of more than 150 projects includes major bridge seismic retrofits, new roadways, structure widenings and replacements, and pedestrian and railroad bridges. He has analyzed and designed steel truss bridges, reinforced and prestressed concrete, and steel girder bridges as well as movable bridges, retaining walls, and other transportation structures.
Earlier in his career, John was employed with Caltrans Division of Structures where he served as a Prestressed Concrete Committee Technical Specialist. In this role, he worked with Caltrans personnel, local agencies and consulting engineers to advance the state of design for prestressed concrete structures. John also taught prestressed concrete bridge design classes at the Caltrans Bridge Design Academy and at University of California, Berkeley.
